This Southwest Caucasian kellegi shows a pellucid teal ground featuring five octagonal “Memling guls” enclosing hooked crosses, and detailed in red, straw-camel, ivory, red and medium blue. Stars and knots are scattered about in the field. Red border of stepped crosses in blues, straw and ivory. Ivory zig-zag minors. All wool construction with red wefts and a medium-coarse weave of symmetric knots. A very attractive and boldly drawn village rug in good condition.
