In the 18th century style, this lively-coloured hanging shows a rustic game of blindman’s buff, with well-dressed young aristocratic, or at least haut-bourgeois girls and young men. The rural setting, with substantial dwellings to the right, presents four well-dressed girls and three prosperous young men, one with a hunting hound, engaged in a game in which a blindfolded girl in yellow tries to identify her male partners. Powder blue, ivory, yellows, pale greens and light roses prevail in the clothing with further, darker blues in the foliage. Pseudo-convex picture frame border. Probably from a Boucher original painting. Good condition. .
