Maybe from the Qashquli subtribe of the Qashghai, noted for extremely well-woven and designed rugs. The deep indigo blue navy dubfield is filled with small, exquisitely executed bird C. 1910 s, animals, stars, octagons, pinwheel rosettes, botehs and tiny flowers. The red and ivory tripartite pole medallion presents “knots” in all three sections and the encompassing red field shows similar motives in ivory in the corners. The especially intricate ivory border features small rosettes with oppositely curled volute extensions and small flowers with florets and leaves. Excellent, close wool pile. Good condition.
