Antique Bakhshyesh Rug 9'4'' x 13'9''. Although somewhat wear-compromised, this is still a noble and authentic village piece with an abrashed light blue field developing stepped corners decorated by flowering plants. The plain, well-abrashed rust/red field is cantered by an irregular, stepped navy medallion, filled with leaves and displaying a pale blue sub-medallion. Yellow-tan main border with a strip-style Zanbaki design of square rosettes and slanted irises. An attractive C. 1880 carpet from the artistically estimable Heriz district. Fair condition.
