From the village weavers in the west-central Persian Chahar Mahal district, this cotton foundation piece shows a stepped lozenge lattice with cells in green, eggshell, red, rust and navy, with cypresses, flower and leaf quatrefoils and flowering plants; all within an ecru strip-style main border with a geometric pattern of palmettes and serrated leaves. Saturated palette. Moderate/medium weave.
