From the greater Heriz district in NW Persia, this kenare (runner) displays a central pole medallion of teal, rust and medium blue octogramme cartouches, alternating with barbed, one way palmettes in red and rust, all on the deep indigo round. Narrow cerulean blue border of rosettes and leaves. Moderate weave. Before the popularity of Karajas, there were Karadaghs ("black mountains").
