Whereas the vast majority of finely woven, central Persian Isfahan city rugs are in lighter palettes with distinct field, medallion and borders, this scatter shows a jewel-tone palette with a navy field, red cruciform over octogramme medallion, beveled corner and faceted side sections, and a very, very skim border. A final plain band surrounds the whole. Unsigned, but truly imaginative. Fairly recent, as new condition.
