DESCRIPTION
The red field shows a Baroque repeating design of Brussels sprout medallions alternating with tall strapwork lozenges pinned by ragged diamonds and concave cruciform. Near black main border with repeating “scorpions'' in the Goradis village style. Russian Czarist style for the aristocratic market, but from the southern Armenian Caucasus. Wool foundation, medium coarse weave. Good condition.
