A finely woven piece from the central Persian old capital of Isfahan, with an circular arabesque wreath around a red pendanted octogramme medallion, all on a characteristic ecru field with giant floriated corner complex botehs. Small lamps hang from the shield pendants. Characteristic red border with reversing and slanted petal palmettes. Cotton foundation, firm and velvety texture.
