DESCRIPTION

This carpet is a recent production of Oushak looms, which have been active for more than six centuries, weaving, as here, for an active export trade. The straw field is centred by a cream and sky blue medallion with a goldenrod ragged sub-medallion. Semi-geometric rosettes, cartouches, broken leaves and stiff stems are among the secondary decoration. Sky blue border with rosettes drooping long, leaves and sharply petalled rosettes. Coarsely woven. New condition.
