DESCRIPTION

The dark blue ground is centered by a small, round, open medallion of paeony sprays, with widely spaced butterflies and lesser floral sprays on stems. Floral motives of the navy main border flow into the inner secondary. Moderate/medium weave, cotton foundation. Fair condition with moderate, but visible, wear. Northeastern Chinese workshop carpet.
