DESCRIPTION

Characteristic Khamseh bitonal cane stripe field pattern and red triangular flower-filled corners. Soft red main border with "pomegranate" flowers, again totally diagnostic Not Afshar, but SW tribal work clearly meant for a significant client. Usually seen on scatter formats. Some minor end issues, but amazingly good condition for the format and age. Wool foundation, moderate tribal weave.
