Antique Mohtasham Kashan Rug 4'7'' x 6'9''. Central Persian city known for finely woven. room size and scatter rugs, with dominant reds and navy, and medallion patterns and swirling palmettes. Wool and a few silk pieces. Active since the 16th century but with breaks, Revival began with Mohtasham in the 1880's.
