The spell of the "American style" Sarouks was broken in the 1980's and since then design has reverted to the more creative Sarouk Farahans, as shown in this classic red field piece with an eight lobe ecru medallion hosting a central ecru actogram and surrounding straw sub-medallion. Four part symmetric field with sickle leaves, palmettes and arabesques. Gently lobed ecru corners. Sand border with palmettes and forked arabesques. Recent. Fine weave. As new condition.
