A sandy cream border with long leaf stylized plants and delicate flower sprays, frames the putty-coloured field with widely dispersed straw-sand floating cartouches, vegetal elements and stiffly branching stems. The motives are typically Oushak of the c. 1900 period, abstracted and unlike Persian or Caucasian or Ottoman Turkish aesthetics. Wool foundation, coarse urban workshop weave. Allover even wear. Fairly good condition. Characteristic export oriented Oushak/Smyrna work.
