This is a modern interpretation of the Flemish Large Leaf Verdure hangings especially popular in the mid-16th century. The dark blue ground is nearly covered by lobed grape vine leaves, stems with small flowers and fruits, and a lavishly antlered deer emerging from the forest work. Pale straw--sand side borders, each with two classical; armoured figures. Variety of blue shades, greens and light straw-yellow-sand-cream tones. Fine condition.
