This is a very classic Fachralo type of southwest Caucasian Kazak prayer rug with a relatively narrow natural dye palette including: madder red for the field; abrashed denim blue for the floating niche area; yellow and green for accents; and dark brown for outliners. Angular large bitonal volute ÒknotsÓ in the spandrels. Ivory characteristic border with stepped ÒleavesÓ and yellow and red triangles. All wool construction with a moderately coarse weave in symmetric knots. A perfect wall hanging in very good condition with a longish pile. Original colour-banded side finishes.
