In fairly good condition, this velvety pile, short-clipped arcade pattern carpet shows two candy-cane striped pillars with fluted capitals upholding rounded arches with navy palmette spandrels. Beneath is a well-drawn palmette, iris, leaf, and complex rosette pattern on an old ivory ground. Navy border with a fat meandering vine with side kinks. Fine weave, cotton foundation, asymmetric knots, central town origin, probably in the famous “Mohtasham'' workshop.
