The generic name for the village rugs of the Chahar Mahal district in west-central Persia. On cotton, frequently single-wefted, often room size, with medallions. “garden'' panel patterns, allovers, in  semi-geometric drawing and with saturated palettes. Also refers to the local migratory nomads famous for their pile and sumak mixed technique large bags. Moderate prices. Moderate weave.
