The Pattern on this central rustic carpet is distantly derived from classical archetypes with a clouds band dominated lobed and pointed ivory medallion with fat cartouche ivory pendants with tiny, abbreviated cloud bands. Ivory corner pieces with more sinuous cloud bands. Blue-black field with semi-abstract stiff vines and floral forms. Unusual red/navy bitonal reciprocal main border defined by a squared meander and two way palmettes. A rustic rug trying to be urban. Very attractive. Good condition.
