DESCRIPTION

This Khamseh tribal kellegi (long rug) from around Shiraz show a three hexagon pole medallion with finial and horizontal extenders, on a red, chicken-filled sub-field, all set on a stepped dark blue ground with rosette patterning. Main border in near black with rosettes, and en suite minors with bitonal oblique barber pole stripes. Moderate weave. Shows wear. Fair condition with soft wool.
