From western Persia, this creamy-straw carpet shows a strong curving arabesque vinery positioning oval palmettes, with a quadruple conjoint rosette and four sickle leaf centres, all accented in rust-red, green, and chocolate. Green border with lappet and petal rosettes and palmettes. Cotton foundation. Medium-coarse weave. Areas of light wear induce corduroy ribbing. Generally good condition. Cream ground Sutanabads are the most desirable of the type and are always decorative.
