Round or oval rugs are woven on regular square or rectangular looms. This well-woven example shows an eight-pointed red star-like field centred by a navy acanthus volute octofoil medallion with a red and cream bitonal petal rosette centre. Ecru "corners" anchored by red petal rosettes all round. Navy main border with rosettes, and light blue flanking minors with tendrils and winged rosettes. As new condition.
