Antique Caucasian Shirvan Rug 4'2'' x 6'0"
Rather than Shirvan, this west Caspian littoral scatter shows a four section pole medallion of stepped hexagons and red finial sunbursts, on a dark blue field, with secondary supporting rosettes. Diagnostic golden yellow main border with the iconic "wedgie shoe" interlocking pattern. Probably from Karagashli village. Medium weave, short pile. All wool construction. Good condition.
