DESCRIPTION

From Western Persia, this Kellegi (long rug) shows an abrashed sapphire ground with an essentially three column allover pattern of petal-winged palmettes, rosettes, horizontal short stems, and botehs and boteh-leaves. Accents in: straw, sand, goldenrod and rose-rust. Burnt salmon border with a serrated leaf meander and bracketed simple palmettes. Mellow tonality. Plain sienna outer border. Cotton foundation. Good condition.
