Presently, for some reason, out of fashion and incredibly reasonably priced Kerman's are one of the best bargains in room sized carpets. The deep royal blue open subfield of this "bookcover" layout piece shows the complex strapwork outline medallion with its elliptical rust-red sub-medallion. Conforming red field forms conjoint corners. Nar black border with pointed arcade pattern. Formal, but not formal like a Kashan or Tabriz or Isfahan. Thick pile. Fine weave. Good condition.
