DESCRIPTION

A characteristic Malayer straw medallion with doubled pendants and rounded "claws" is centred by a navy and light blue octofoil, on a navy Herati pattern ground. Ivory strip-style border with revering turtles and small rosettes. West , cotton foundation, medium weave. Probably from Malayer town itself. Good condition. Malayer is within the Greater Hamadan Weaving Area and has numerous satellite villages actively weaving rugs.
