DESCRIPTION

Ivory field small scatters, as here, were among the best products of the 1880-1914 Farahan-Sarouk period in western Persia. The navy and old gold medallion is decorated with peacock tail and other palmettes, and tightly curled vinery, on the cream field embellished with decorative shrubs. Rose corners with projecting arrows. Navy border with alternations of octagon/rosettes and petal octofoils. Leathery texture, medium-fine weave on cotton.
